I have come to love Joe Walsh because he can see both sides with clarity. He made a HUGEpoint and it’s one that drives me fucking bananas. I come from a highly educated family, too many PhDs to count. I have a masters and I grew up with critical thinkers who use words with more than 5 letters 😂. Joe was right. Dems need to set the bar knowing that 54% of this country does not read above the 6th grade level, which then means their comprehension and critical thinking and debate skills are not too different. Dems have to get away from academic debate and speak the language with the vocabulary that people in this country understand. They speak a foreign language and people feel like they are talked over and not talked with. They also tend to be in-fighters because they have been educated to debate and to be ego driven. MAGA figured out that all repeating the same talking points is how you permeate minds. Good interview!! Dems want to protect the marginalized and the poor, but they’re not talking WITH them, they’re talking AT them.
FDR mastered talking to the uneducated masses, and there was a much bigger difference in education levels between the elite and the working class in those days. It can be done.
One of the very best Podcasts I’ve heard yet. You all need to run for state representatives and senators. I am in complete agreement with your opinions of why we lost. We should have had a democratic primary. Many were pissed off and didn’t vote. The system needs reform but not how the Heritage Foundation and Trump are doing it. PLEASE!
It takes courage to admit when you were wrong. Joe Walsh has more courage and integrity than all of the rest of these MAGA hacks still in congress cowering down to this wannabe king, combined.
If we want the country overcome this strain of authoritarianism, it is absolutely essential for the Democratic tent to be large enough for Walsh and Mamdani/AOC. It pisses me off when I see people like Pearlmania using their platform to keep Joe Walsh out of the party because he “hasn’t been a Democrat long enough”. That is the antithesis of effectively building a Big Tent….
Sorry to reply again but also..... The party does not get to decide who is democrat enough to run and democrat long enough. Fuck that I am sick of the tired "stay the course" democrats. We need change, this country needs change, we need to be the change agents for once, not the GOP with liquor and matches burning shit down indiscriminately.
I agree 100% it takes a lot of admit you were that wrong and do the work to prove you are not holding that belief any longer. As democrats we need to allow for converts, not spit on them, theres no way to grow the party in that case. Not like Elon getting pissed because he didn't get his way and is starting another party. I mean thats great it will split the conservative vote.
He's been my favorite for years! He is intelligent, but he also knows how to speak effectively to those who may not be as articulate as he is. He is so well-rounded and has the experience. I also think he comes from a good place morally/ethically.
I love Buttigieg!! He was my pick in 2020, but he dropped out before the California primary. His being a veteran is a plus, and he can hold his own on places like Fox News!
Almost all of his hometown friends use it exactly like you and in some weird New England ways. Your energy you bring to the show with how you use Fuck is appreciated.
Thanks for another interesting show. I think the Democrats need a platform of rebuilding government. Now that the toddler has knocked down the blocks it's time to work out how we will build better. Rebuilding SCOTUS obviously part of that.
Thanks for a great episode y’all. After today, let’s just stop talking about a possible Democratic platform and candidates and just start making them for the Party. We always say the party is the people…well, we’re the people and this is the platform.
Joe should 100% run.
Y’all just workshop the new platform with us.
We stop talking about the Democratic National Party and just overwhelm it with our platform.
Best episode yet by far guys! Agree with everything you guys talked about EXCEPT one point. Although I like Mark Cuban and find him to be a principled guy, he’s a BILLIONAIRE. That’s not a bad thing in and of itself, but that’s a huge part of the problems we’re currently facing in Trump’s regime right now. In my mind (and probably the minds of a lot of people)…Billionaires equal corruption. And they’re only going to become more and more hated over the next 3 1/2 years.
How can we say we’re for the working class people, court them, and then get behind a Billionaire as a possible candidate??? No. Just no. No more fucking Billionaires, not ever again.
I always look at the length of a video before I start, and when I saw this was over an hour, I thought “no way am I listening to this whole thing.” I listened to the entire video because it literally held me captive from the start. This was absolutely fantastic, and I agree with so much! THANK YOU!!!!
Kamala told us all that he was a danger to our democracy and people said she was stoking fear. Of course she had to talk about it. And the people who cared about a primary were never going to give up their cult leader. Maybe some who stayed home would have showed though
Great episode today guys! I never thought about Dems in the way of being elitist, and I think that makes a lot of sense in how maga views us. We tend to think we are better than them - morally I tend to agree, but we should not have a holier than thou approach when trying to talk to them. I'm going to think more on this and how we can try to come to the same level of communication to people who voted for him. Dems do need to understand it's harmful not helpful. People like Jasmine Crockett who use real talk may be able to sway some people's line of thinking. Being able to break it down for people like she and AOC have been has brought a lot of younger voters in and other Dems need to understand that.
love you @Joe Walsh even if don’t agree on the middle east issue with you ❤️ thank you for your heart and your authenticity and proof that we can all learn from past mistakes and change and grow. this is the way.

Agree with you

What about Buttigieg?
LOVE him
I love him.

Great episode. I’ve known Tim a long time. Hearing him try to say “fuck” brings back many memories of how uncomfortable he sounds saying it.
HAHAHAHAH this is so funny to hear. Of course by contrast, I use "fuck" like a comma
Almost all of his hometown friends use it exactly like you and in some weird New England ways. Your energy you bring to the show with how you use Fuck is appreciated.
Every time I say it, I feel like my mom is standing behind me.
Fucking timmy
Uh it's "FUCK YOU TIMMY"
😂

We need to clone you guys. All of you. Keep up the good fight!

I’m loving the new intro.

Fantastic group!
This was refreshing and it is so interesting to hear Joe and his perspective. Thank you!
